Custodian

Church of the Ascension is looking to hire a full-time (40 hours/week) custodian to work Friday through Tuesday. The successful candidate will need to have the clearances required by Pennsylvania for those who work around children. Job will entail moving tables and chairs for event set-up both indoors and outdoors; vacuuming, mopping and buffering floors; clearing sidewalks of snow; clearing grounds of trash; cleaning stairwells; cleaning kitchens and bathrooms; assisting with food preparation and clean-up on Sundays; trash disposal; and minor maintenance under the direction of the maintenance supervisor.

Candidate requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to lift, push, and/or move over 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, bend down, and climb ladders
• Ability to work on uneven ground outdoors
• Ability to shovel snow
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Time-management and multitasking abilities
• Organization skills
• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools a plus
