Next Bishop Discernment Process News
Greetings in the Name of Jesus, the Word made Flesh. We are entering an exciting and busy time with the Discernment Process, and we hope you're praying. Prayer not politics; Discernment, not a search.
Here are some updates to draw your attention to:
1. Diocesan Day of Prayer & Fasting. Please set aside Wednesday, February 3, 2016 as a special day of Prayer and Fasting. Information and resources will be available soon.
2. Suggest Names for Bishop. Thank you to everyone who has suggested names so far. To date, we have received 52 submissions that have yielded 35 names. Submissions have come evenly from clergy and laity, which is great. The deadline to submit a name is January 25. Find the form and other information here. The suggested names will create a "Roster" which will be the a resource to the Districts Nominating Meetings. The Roster will be provided to clergy and laity first, then posted on the Diocesan website.
3. District Nominating Meetings are currently being scheduled. Please keep the clergy and lay deputies in your prayers.
4. Celebration of Thanksgiving to Canon Mary Hays. Join us on Friday, February 12 from 6-8pm at Longue Vue Country Club in Verona. RSVP here. We're also asking that everyone take time to write a note of thanks. Notes and cards will be presented to Canon Mary that evening. Please send them to Bonnie Catalano at the Diocesan Offices.
